The KUSAM-MECO Field Intensity Tester - KM 828 is a handheld tool used to measure electric and magnetic fields in the proximity of electric transmission lines. This device provides an accurate method to assess the intensity of a given field, which may be important in the event that low level electromagnetic radiation could be hazardous to humans.
The KUSAM-MECO Field Intensity Tester - KM 828 is comprised of a number of different components that are meant to work together in order to produce an accurate reading. The component most integral to this function is the antenna, as it collects data from which the field strength can be calculated. This antenna comes with an internal coil and a handle that allows it to be easily moved across the body being tested, thereby collecting information about its electromagnetic field.
The handle itself has a number of buttons that allow for various functions of the device. A power button starts up the device, while other buttons move between different modes that display different readings. There is also a test button that can be used before taking a reading, which tests for normal operation of the antenna. This antenna works by sending out pulses that are then collected by receivers on board and converted into data from which the strength of the field can be calculated.
